Every spot has its best time of day – we plan it in for you.
Uluwatu & Melasti
Cliffs above turquoise water, with the sun setting over the sea in the west. Best in the hour before sunset.
Lempuyang temple gate
The famous gate framing Mount Agung. During the day the wait can take hours – we plan early. A sarong and covered shoulders are required.
Ubud & Tegallalang
Rice terraces, jungle swings and villas with floating breakfast. The swings are paid attractions; the light is softest in the morning.
Waterfalls
Tukad Cepung with light beams in the canyon, Tibumana with its curtain of water. Wear grippy shoes for the path and change outfits at the bottom.
Canggu & beach clubs
Sunset by the infinity pool with surfers in the background. Many beach clubs are busy in the evening – booking ahead pays off.
